The Faithful Living Newsletter
📅 Sunday, January 18, 2026

This month, we are focusing on the subject of nourishment and what that means for your hair and your walk with God. Scripture reminds us that growth flows from connection, and nourishment is part of how God sustains what He is growing, strengthening us consistently before damage is visible.

Here's what I pulled together for you this week...

A Better Way to End the Day: Faith, Stewardship, and Wind-Down Habits

In this article, I'm sharing a practical yet meaningful evening routine designed for Christian women. The activities are based on my own practice - the things I'm doing and the things I'm working on.

It's our routines and practices that nourish our spirits, souls, and bodies. Read on.

🙏 SACRED REFLECTIONS

But He answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.'" Matthew 4:4

Just like your hair needs consistent care to stay healthy, your spirit needs the Word to be strong...and healthy. Don’t skip what truly nourishes you.

🙌🏼 TREASURE THIS

What Nourishment Actually Is

When you hear the word nourishment, your mind probably goes straight to food and what you feed your body.

But nourishment was never meant to stop there.

You also need nourishment for your spirit and your soul: your mind, will, and emotions. And like physical nourishment, it often works beneath the surface long before you see visible results

That’s true in hair care, and it’s true in life.

In hair care, proper nourishment through deep conditioning, protein support, or herbal treatments strengthens and hydrates strands before breakage shows up. The work is preventative, not reactive.

In life, when you nourish your spirit and soul with the Word of God, your faith grows, and even your physical strength is sustained.

True nourishment of your spirit, soul, and body requires consistency and connection - connection to the one who created us... For He is the Potter and we are the clay.

When one part of you is neglected, imbalance follows. God didn’t design us to focus only on the spiritual while ignoring the natural or to care for the body while starving the soul.

Complete Nourishment looks like:

  • tending to yourself before damage is visible, physically or emotionally
  • nourishing the soul so you don’t snap under pressure
  • caring for your hair so it doesn’t begin to over-shed or break
  • living with awareness of your triune design: spirit, soul, and body

The real question isn’t whether you’re doing enough.
It’s whether you’re staying connected to what actually sustains growth.

When nourishment is present, growth follows.

🙌🏼 SACRED SELF CARE
What’s Really Behind the Lack of Energy?

If you’ve been feeling drained, check in with what you're feeding (or not feeding) yourself - physically and spiritually. Nourishment isn't always about adding more. Sometimes it's about cutting back.

Consider asking God: What do I need less of this week? That simple reflection can lead to more clarity than any routine.

This is the kind of care we build step-by-step inside the Academy - real routines for real life, guided by faith.

Hi Reader, A few days ago, I shared about foundations and why we often struggle to reach certain goals without them. I also encouraged you to close any loose ends as a form of self care. So, this is just a quick reminder to close that loop 😉But also to offer a bit more clarity on why foundations matter in your hair care, your faith, and your daily life. Why fine natural hair requires intentional careFine natural hair is not weak, but it is fragile. It requires care that is appropriate for its...
